Travelling to the US is top on the bucket list for many Brits. However, not many know that much about the diverse wonders around the US. We are going to take a look at a list of places to go to when you get to the US. Do remember it is a pretty big place though!
Before we get to that though, remember to complete your ESTA US visa application as you go about your preparations. You will be sent home without this important document.
So here we go!
Mesa Verde National Park, Colorado
This park offers you the unique opportunity to observe thousands of archaeological sites and ruins of historic village that were inhabited by the Puebolans. These ruins are some of the most impressive in the entire country. Little wonder UNESCO has listed the area as a World Heritage Site.
Niagara Falls, New York
This landmark is as beautiful as it looks in the pictures. Located at theborder between Canada and the US, Niagara Falls offers you one of the most picturesque views in the country. If you are going in the summer, try to get a glimpse of the falls at night!
New Orleans, Louisiana
If you can, visit the French Quarter in New Orleans. It is a national landmark that has many historic buildings. While at the French quarter, visit Bourbon Street , it houses some of the best bars and clubs in the country.
Las Vegas, Nevada
What’s the point of visiting the US if you are not going to see Vegas? It is a city that guarantees you won’t get bored. You don’t have to be a gambler to enjoy the desert paradise either. There are lots of activities that will keep you entertained. They don’t call it the entertainment capital of the world for nothing.
The Yellowstone National Park was the very first national park established in the U.S. It is popular for being home to the greatest geysers in the world. Also, there are picturesque mountains, grizzly bears, bison, elk and so on.
This is one of the top holiday destinations in the world, and for good reason to. It can offer you a lot more apart from beaches and ocean. Hawaii islands are also known for their interesting customs, cuisine, traditions, etc. You can either enjoy nature or simply enjoy the numerous cultural entertainment activities on display.
Grand Canyon, Arizona
This is undoubtedly one of the greatest sights you will see around the world. It offers a spectacular view over the Colorado River. If you are so inclined, you can go hiking or rafting. If you can afford it, get on the helicopter tour. Worth every penny!
New York City, New York
The entire city is an attraction in itself so telling you what to visit in New York should be reserved for another article. However, if you decide to drop in, make sure you see Ellis Island, the Metropolitan Museum of Art, Times Square and of course the Empire State Building.
Obviously, you won’t be able to get through all of these sites in the US (unless you are staying months!) but if you base your short holidays around two to three of these, you are bound to enjoy every minute!
